Ellen Pompeo is spending less time at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, according to Deadline. She will only appear in eight out of the 22 episodes she has planned to take part in in the next Season 19 of the medical drama.
Pompeo will be working on Orphan, an upcoming Hulu series that will reduce herGreys screen time. According to Deadline, she will still narrate each episode of the new season and will continue to produce the show.
Natalia Grace Barnett, Pompeos latest project, is inspired by a real-life narrative of a Ukrainian couple who later claimed she was an adult woman posing as a child.
Pompeos work onOrphandoesnt necessarily imply that she's ending herGreyschapter for the rest of her life, although she's admitted to admit that she didn't anticipate her leaving the program this long. "It happened, and here I am," she said, adding that it's been an incredible experience for her.
Pompeo said in a more recent interview withEntertainment Tonight in May that Greyswould be fine without her. During her participation in the 400th episode of the medical drama, she told the outlet, "I think for the young people, its a really good piece of content."
She said of her potential replacement: "You may find someone, or we may not."
