Pain does not nausea anymore.
After first being mentioned as a possibility last fall, it now looks official: the 80s camp classicRoad House will be remade, and it will star Jake Gyllenhaal, who was made famous by the late, great Patrick Swayze. The remake will be directed by Doug Liman, who has starred in The Bourne Identity,Edge of Tomorrow, and Swers.
Jennifer Salke of Amazon Studios commented on the new Road House: "It's a nod to fans of the original," but it's also a big, fun, broad audience movie."
And what about the original? Released in 1989, Swayze played the worlds greatest badassandthe worlds most meatheaded philosopher, who works as a cooler for higher; basically a bouncer who travels from bar to bar, getting rid of riff raff. It's an extremely silly concept, but equally entertaining.
Will this film with Jake Gyllenhaal run as a film in 2022? It's possible.
If you have never seen the originalRoad Houseor or just want to experience it again one more time, the film is available for rent or purchase, or you may stream it on AMC+.
