Jake Gyllenhaal and Selena Gomez Resurrect a Few 80s Classics! ...

Were going to need to change our leg warmers because we're going back to the 1980s! Selena Gomez and Jake Gyllenhaal's latest projects demonstrate that everything that was previously unimaginable can be made new.

The actor from Only Murders in the Building is going to be the one who will create a different version of Working Girl, which was first released in 1988 and starred Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver, and Melanie Griffith.

The protagonist in the film is Tess (Griffith), an ambitious secretary who is guided by Katharine's brilliant business idea.

Selena Gomez serves as a producer on Only Murders, but we are hopeful that she will reprise her role in a new version of Tess in the near future.

In the meantime, Prime Video is working on a different version of Road House, which will star Jake Gyllenhaal. The original film was made in 1989 and star Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliott, and Kelly Lynch.

The original narrative of Road House, which included the story of James Dalton (played by Swayze), a bouncer who protected a Missouri town from evil businessman Brad Wesley (played by Ben Gazzara), has been given a contemporary twist in the revised version of the film.

According to the streamer, the new story follows a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal) who finds work as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys, but soon realizes that not everything is exactly as it appears in this tropical paradise.

The new approach follows a former UFC fighter who finds employment as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys.

Is Gyllenhaal going to fight in the Octagon? We are not submitting a complaint. Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Lukas Gage, Travis Van Winkle, and Arturo Castro will also play.

Doug Liman, who has worked on Mr. and Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity, has signed on to direct this film. The Road House is a perfect fit for us.

Jennifer Salke, the CEO of Amazon Studios, believes the film isn't only a nod and a nod to fans of the original, it's also a huge, joyful film that's aimed at a broad audience.

We are so honored to work with Joel and Doug, as well as this wonderful cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, and for them to come together to remake the classic MGM film into an action-packed adventure for our worldwide audience.

It's safe to say that we're looking forward to seeing the revamped versions of Working Girl and Road House, but we're also hoping that the hair spray will be left out.
