Top Burberry Managers Cut Their Salary By 20% Due To Coronavirus
Top managers and Board members of the British Burberry Group voluntarily reduced their remuneration from April to July by 20%, the company reported. This money will go to the company's Fund to support the neediest communities around the world affected by the pandemic.
The company recalled that it also transferred money for the development of a vaccine and to charities that distribute food to the poor.
Burberry's raincoat factory has switched to manufacturing medical (surgical) gowns and masks for state medical institutions. The company also uses its logistics network to distribute masks.
Burberry has announced that it will keep the basic salary of employees who are unable to continue working due to the closure of businesses and stores and will not use the state scheme to compensate the company for salary costs.
Burberry also said that preliminary results for the fiscal year ended March 28 will be published on May 22, rather than May 14, as previously planned.
