Demi Lovato, who was declared non-binary last year, has returned to singing using her/her pronouns.
Lovato came out as non-binary last year and said she prefers gender-neutral they/them terms. She is now feeling more feminine as she is such a fluid person.
Lovato, who has both she/her and they/them listed in her Instagram biography, said: I've adopted the pronouns of she/her once more.
Im such a fluid person that I felt that my energy was balanced in my masculine and feminine energy, especially last year, that when faced with the decision of walking into a restroom, it said women and men.
Because I didnt feel like a woman, I didnt feel like a man. I just felt like a human, she continued.
For me, they/them are just about feeling human at your core. Recently, Ive been feeling more feminine, and so I've adopted her/her again.
The 29-year-old star acknowledged that it is easy for people to sabotage pronouns, and that it is OK as long as they show respect.
But I think whats important is that nobody is perfect. Everyone has a problem with pronouns at some point, especially when people are learning. It's all about respect.
Demi Lovato said that using them/them pronouns last year made her feel most authentic.
The singer said, "Ive been doing some self-reflection and healing work. And through this work, Ive discovered that I am notbinary." With that said, I'll be officially changing my pronouns to them/them.
I believe this is the most effective representation of my gender identity and allows me to be the most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and am still discovering.
