The Veil, a new Hulu-exclusive thriller series, has been ordered by FX. Elisabeth Moss will direct (and direct) the film. If The Invisible Man taught us anything, then it's that thrillers are made for Moss.
The show, directed by Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight, will follow the turbulent relationship between two women as they travel from Instanbul to Paris and London in search of a deadly truth. According to the show's description, one woman has a secret, while the other has a mission to reveal it before tens of thousands of lives are lost.
We're thrilled to have Elisabeth Moss join us for the lead role, according to Nick Gad, FX's president of original programming, in a press release given to Decider. Elisabeth's exceptional talent will be showcased in the future.
Knight and Moss, as well as Denise Di Novi and Nina Tassler of PatMa Productions, will executive produce the series.
Im absolutely thrilled to be telling this story, which is truly international and very contemporary, Knight said in the same release. Denise Di Novi is always a pleasure to work with, and Ive wanted to work with Elisabeth Moss for a long time. I think this will be a historic television event.
Moss is well-known for her roles in Hulus The Handmaids Tale, which is in development for Season 5, and in AMC's Mad Men. She is also currently starring (and executive producing and directing a pair of episodes) in Apple TV+s Shining Girls.
At this time, no release date for The Veil has been announced.
