Amidst an outburst of blonde backlash, Marilyn Monroe's estate supports Ana de Armas, captures Maril ...

Ana de Armas is supported by Marilyn Monroes Estate in Netflix's upcoming biopic,Blonde. Initially, viewers were quick to pick apart de Armas' accent, but Monroes estate quickly jumped in to defend the actress, according to reports.

Marc Rosen, Authentic Brands Group President of Entertainment (owners of the Marilyn Monroe Estate), issued a statement standing by de Armas in response to criticisms.

According to Variety, Marilyn Monroe is a singular Hollywood and pop culture icon that transcends generations and history. Any actor who steps into that role knows they have big shoes to fill. Ana is a great casting choice as she captures Marilyns glamour, humanity, and vulnerability.

Rosen's words came after Twitter critics ripped apart de Armas after seeing the trailer online. One user complained that de Armas sounded bad as Monroe with her heavy accent, while another claimed that the actress does not sound like Monroe because you can still hear her accent.

De Armas was never identified as Monroe, according to others, but she described her process of forming her character in The Times, a newspaper in the United Kingdom, which she said involved nine months of accent work.

She explained that it took me nine months of dialect coaching, and practicing, as well as some ADR sessions. It was a lot of torture, and it was so exhausting. My brain was fried.

The latest controversy surrounding Billonde is about its NC-17 rating and content, which Dominik promised will offend everyone who sees it.

Netflix will release Blondepremieres on September 23.
