After receiving criticism for using the term lesbian to describe her sexuality, JoJo Siwa reveals her thoughts on the term.

Here's all you need to know about it.

JoJo Siwa clarifies her opinions about the term lesbian.

JoJo Siwatook took to social media on 29th July to dispel claims about her supposedly finding the term lesbian to be a slang term.

In a TikTok video, a 19-year-old said, OK, Ive been thinking about my remarks and I just want to make somethingsuperclear. I never said that lesbian was a dirty word, and I never would say that it is not.

She further clarified, it is not a bad word, it is not a slur, and it is not a term I am ashamed of using or ashamed of identifying as by any means.

Siwa continued, saying, "Whenever someone speaks to me about my sexuality, I just say that I am gay."

If that makes sense, Siwa continued, it's not the word that flows off the tongue for me.

Why did JoJo Siwa get so much resentment?

JoJo Siwa was chastised on the internet after she said that she does not prefer to describe herself as a lesbian.

She said, I dont like the word itself. Its just a lot. But I mean, at the end of the day, thats what I am.

In her tense interview, she further stated, You may be queer and be girly. I think thats a fact, but a lot of times lesbians are portrayed as being masculine.

If you're a lesbian, you're supposed to be, do you want to be a boy? That's not the case. There are plenty of very feminine lesbians.

One user argued that Siwa should be held responsible for the lies she propagates.

I do hope she learns to accept herself and her identity as such, but that's not what I'm willing to accept. Her actions were extremely detrimental, and she should know better.

Despite the fact that many fans backed the young internet personalities, many backed them.

A fan said that being lesbian isn't an ugly or bad word, but it takes a lot of people time to mature into it. She may have chosen to say she prefers being called gay but like. She just came out at the age of 19 and is only 19.
