The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022 is expected to be one of the largest international Indian film festivals outside of the country. It just announced its nominations for its annual awards ceremony, and there are some promising films that have made the cut. The festival is an annual event held in Melbourne, Australia, sponsored by the Victorian Government. It showcases the best films from India and the subcontinent.

The IFFM 2022 is making a comeback for its physical version this month after being only virtual for two years. This year the festival will begin on 12-20 August in the lesson, and will also feature special virtual programming between 13 and 30 August for Australian audiences.

The Melbourne Film Awards will be held on the 14th of August. In addition to feature films, the awards will honor the popular OTT series.

The starring actors and filmmakers/producers of films like Jai Bhim, The Rapist, Gangubai Kathiwadi, 83, Badhaai Do, and Ladies Only are among the most nominated films at the annual AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards).

In 2021, IFFM will include streaming platforms as awards categories. These include Best Series, Best Actress in a Series, and Best Actress in a Series. Mumbai Diaries, Aranyak, Mai, and Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein are among the contenders.

The jury panel at the IFFM has had the privilege of naming some of the most prominent Australian film personalities. Juror members include global award-winning film editor Jill Bilcock, one of Australia's well-known actors Vince Colosimo, multi-award-winning filmmaker Geoffrey Wright, and multi-award-winning filmmaker Nadia Tass.
