Hannah Dodd, a newbie to Bridgerton, has thoughts on Colin and Penelope's love story ...

Since the filming for Bridgerton Season 3, all eyes are on the new and returning cast members. Like with the Regency-era dramas' first two episodes, Julia Quinn's popular novel series will again be used as primary source material, and the character of Francesca Bridgerton has been confirmed to feature in the forthcoming new series. Ruby Stokes left the hit drama to concentrate on Netflix's Lockwood & Co.

Dodd first took on a leading role in the BBC series Harlots in 2018, before appearing in the hugely successful 2022 drama Anatomy of a Scandal, opposite Millie Bobby Brown.

Dodds' role in Bridgerton is described as a bit of a mystery in her own chatty and extroverted family, despite her reserved nature, she goes along to get along when it comes to society affairs, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confound the fragile ton yet seem to draw attention when she least desires it, according to a character synopsis.

Dodd spoke forth about her first days as Francesca in the Bridgerton books, saying, "Everybody's been amazing." The actor wanted to do a fantastic job."

I didnt know what I'd been up for, but I wanted to read it as soon as possible. Shes a lovely character, and I cant help but imagine that I'll be able to portray her, Dodd said. I know how people feel about her as well, and I'll try my best.

Season 3 (and the recently commissioned 4) are veering off track. One Twitter user wrote I'll skip them, while another replied with We're waiting for the Benedict and Sophie story.

But Dodd appears to be in favor of making the switch. Colin and Penelopes story was enjoyable to watch. I am looking forward to seeing how that pans out in our version, she added.
