One Direction: Louis Tomlinson's First Album Was Sh*t ...

As he thinks about the 12 years since he, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan were grouped together on the British TV talent show The X Factor, singer Louis Tomlinson believes their debut album, Up All Night, was a complete flop.

On the Smallzys Surgery podcast, he said: Twelve years ago today the band was formed, but the first album was in no way s**t.

Tomlinson is currently working on his second solo album and said he feels a lot of pressure to live up to the success of his former band, according to aceshowbiz.com.

He said: "It's still a lot of pressure for me to make a good record," and for me to try to find my feet coming out of a band as big as One Direction.

Back to You singer isnt the only former member of the group to have criticized their music, as Zayn declared their records were "no longer useful" in 2016, a year after he had resigned from the band.

Louis Tomlinson and others compose a 1D song.

Louis Tomlinson said that there was never any room for me to experiment with music in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse that was somewhat R&B or myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop and generic as f**k.

When I would suggest something, it was like it didnt fit us. There was just a general idea that the band management already had of what they wanted for the band, and I just wasn't convinced with what we were selling.

I was not 100 percent behind the music, it wasn't me. It was music that was already given to us, and we were told this is what we'll sell to these people.
