The Hip Hop Alliance, dubbed the first-ever union in cultures history, has gathered rappers Chuck D, Kurtis Blow, and others.
The Hip Hop Alliance is described as a non-profit organization founded by Chuck D, Kurtis Blow, and Doug E. Fresh. Its objective is to fight for equal pay, fair royalties, and excellent health and retirement benefits for hip hop and R&B musicians.
Doug E. Fresh is the organizations vice chairman, while KRS-One is the chairman. Other rap legends on the unions' advisory board include Slick Rick, Willie D, DJ Scratch, DJ Hollywood, DJ Cassidy, GrandWizzard Theodore, and Alonzo Williams.
KRS-One posted a photo on his Instagram on Wednesday, July 27, showing him introducing The Hip Hop Alliance to the general public and laying out its objective in a freestyle.
The Hip Hop Alliance! With the knowledge, skill, and power of our collective voice, we can never have too many choices about ourselves or our future!
KRS kicks rhymes about The Hip Hop Alliances' pursuit of workers' rights, labor rights, and royalties, as well as the need for the culture to unite in a fight against the heartless music industry.
