During the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios officially announced the next two Avengers films, titulling themAvengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. These two projects are expected to conclude Phase 6 of the Multiverse Saga, so they could include nearly every hero and villain from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans are anticipating that The Kang Dynasty will most likely focus on Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror, while Secret Wars will focus on a multiverse conflict.
Victor Von Doom, better known as Doctor Doom, was one of the comics characters that played a significant role in the Secret Wars crossover. The villain has yet to make a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving fans to wonder if the Fantastic Four's greatest foe will play a role in the live-action adaptation.
In Marvel Comics, Doctor Doom has a secret Wars role.
Doctor Doom blew everyone away with his act of genius in the Secret Wars crossover event: killing Thanos in cold blood. The horrific death occurred in Secret Wars #8, a time when the Multiverse was completely destroyed as Doctor Doom ruled over Battleworld using the abilities of the Beyonder.
The Multiverse was ruined because the greatest Marvel characters were unable to stop different realities from attacking one another.
Did you know that Clea, the apologist for Charlize Theron, first introduced this concept during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel's post-credits scene further clarified that invasions will be a significant part of the franchise in the future as a result of her arrival.
Going back to Battleworld, this entirely different reality created by the Marvel villain was a chaotic place ruled by Doom, altering events in his favor and leading with an iron fist. As a result of Doom's terrible leadership, the remaining heroes from different universes attempted to defeat Doom, but there was another group led by Thanos who was experimenting with their own strategy to defeat the Marvel villain.
Doom gave Thanos the chance to escape with his Annihilation Horde if he does not interfere with the surviving heroes' plans in a strange move. However, the Mad Titan rejected the notion, calling Doom a "weak god" and a "pretender."
This led to Doom using his powers to crush Thanos, ripping the villain's skeleton from his body.
Why Might Doom Surprise the Avengers and Kang?
The news that Secret Wars and a Fantastic Four film would be released sooner rather than later confirms that Doctor Doom may play a key role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Doom may end up being part of Both the Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, implying that a scenario in which the Marvel villain ends up creating Battleword might happen, and it might also happen in a similar situation where Doom kills a major villain like Thanos.
The MCU never had a villain vs. villain moment where the one kills the other, so showing this sequence in either The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars might be a game-changer for the franchise.
Given that Doom is a master strategist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the MCU's iteration might have a game plan in mind, and he may be aware of what Kang is really capable of. It's possible that Doom might form an alliance with Kang at some point following his introduction, leading to a deadly pairing in the next two Avengers films.
Doom and Kang have forged a team-up to accomplish their respective goals for the first time. During the Marvel ComicsInfinity War crossover, the evil pair attempted to steal all of the cosmic resources.
The villain might double cross Kang in the end, killing the Conqueror at the end of the Kang Dynasty in order to fulfill his ambition of becoming the ultimate villain for the heroes to defeat in Secret Wars. On the other hand, Doom could instead team up with the Avengers to defeat Kang at the end of the War.
At this stage, there's a good possibility that The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will be a two-part finale for the Multiverse Saga, similar to what Infinity War and Endgame did for the Infinity Saga.
The conclusion of Avengers 5 might be a cliffhanger, similar to Thanos' Infinity War snap. This nail-biting finish might conclude with Kang being killed by Doom, which might lead to the Multiverse being destroyed. Ultimately, this series of events may lead to a tense conclusion in Secret Wars with everyone trying to avoid Doom.
On November 7, 2025, Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in cinemas.
