Following the revelation that Lazio want as much as 70 million for the Serbian midfielder, who also isnt keen on a Premier League move, Arsenal and Chelsea might sell their interest in signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
According to CalcioMercato, the Gunners, along with Chelsea, have both made initial proposals to sign the 27-year-old superstar, however, Milinkovic-Savic does not want to leave England, but Lazio have increased the asking price for their star player to as high as 70 million.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with Milinkovic-Savic for most of the summer, but this latest update might jeopardize any chance both Premier League clubs have at signing the Serbian, neither of whom is likely to pay the price for their star player.
Milinkovic-Savic is regarded by many as one of Europe's finest midfielders, and a player who has been eager for a move to a larger club for many years, yet despite the most recent reports that Lazio were prepared to take him out, the Serie A team have seemingly shot themselves in the foot with how much they want.
Given that both Premier League clubs are interested in signing a midfielder this summer, Arsenal or Chelsea might have been ideal destinations for Milinkovic-Savic. However, the expense of Lazios and the fact that the Serbian is not open to a move have seemingly shattered any chance of a move.
Arsenal or Chelsea will have to search for alternative signings to Milinkovic-Savic.
Milinkovic-Savic is arguably Europe's most complete midfielder, having been for the past few years a defensive machine capable of scoring goals and assists in one of the continent's best divisions, and both Arsenal and Chelsea will now have to move on from the 27-year-old.
If reports of this week are to be believed, Arsenal and Chelsea will have to look for an alternative in the market this summer.
