According to the Evening Standard, Aston Villa and Everton have scouted Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, who is wanted by Tottenham.

Spurs are in discussions with Burnley to buy the England Under-21 international, according to reports.

Crystal Palace and West Ham have also begun negotiations with Antonio Conte.

Newcastle has also made contact elsewhere.

However, the Premier League trio should be wary of Aston Villa and Everton, who have spent time scouting McNeil in the recent years.

Although there is clear interest in the 22-year-old following a series of scouting excursions, the Evening Standard does not reveal whether the Toffees have begun negotiations with Burnley.

McNeil is expected to return to England's top-flight following his defeat to the Championship last season.

Last season, the Burnley No.11 made 40 appearances in all competitions, contributing one assist.

After Burnley were relegated a few months ago, Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham will be surprised they didnt sign McNeil last summer.

After quoting Crystal Palace 30 million for his signature in the summer of 2021, the Clarets are now willing to sell the 72,000-a-week player for 15 million.

A 22-year-old with 134 Premier League appearances to his name, is paid a fairly reasonable amount, especially since he has two years left on his contract at Turf Moor.

Burnley are also contemplated to have an option to prolong his terms by another 12 months.

Keep an eye on this story, as McNeil might join a new club very soon.
