Napoli, a Serie A club, are willing to sell Hirving Lozano for 18 million, and, according to Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham United is in discussions to bring the Mexico international to the Premier League.

At the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, it's a summer of change.

David Ospina, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Dries Mertens have all gone. Mateo Politano wants to reunite with Gennaro Gattuso in Valencia, according to TMW. And Lozano will also be permitted to leave if the price is right.

Napoli invested a club-record 36 million in the former PSV Eindhoven talisman in just three years. The fact that Lozano might be sold for a near-50 percent loss tells its own story.

The spring-heeled Mexican has been far from a disaster in Southern Italy. But perhaps underwhelming is the correct word. After scoring an impressive 15 goals in 2020/21, his total fell to a mere five in 2021/22.

Lozano hasn't yet morphed into the world-class striker that former Pachuca chief Andres Fassi predicted he'd be.

The best thing to do is to move to another club that values him much more, according to Fassi, who would certainly welcome Lozano's recommendation to leave Naples for London. A club that appreciates Lozano's extraordinary talent.

I would like to think that he would be one of the top ten strikers in world football in a couple of years.

And I say this without a doubt because he is a player who has everything. He has amazing speed, great intelligence, he scores when he has to score, and he assists when he has to assist.

He is not a centre-forward, but he scores a lot of goals.

West Ham have held talks with the one-time Wolves and Everton target, according to TMW. However, David Moyes remains to be seen if he is willing to pay the 18 million Napoli want, as there are many more talented wide forwards on the Hammers' wishlist; from Ben Brereton Diaz to Dwight McNeil, Jesse Lingard to Armando Broja.

Given the breadth of interest in the aforementioned quartet, it appears unlikely that Lozano will be close to becoming West Hams' number one pick.

Prior to Barcelona's Europa League match against Napoli last season, (Lozano) seemed to me a footballer capable of making a difference on the wing.

He appears to me to be a very good player, one-on-one, skilled.
