According to Tuttomercatoweb, Nikolas Ioannou is on his way out of Nottingham Forest. Both Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo have been signed by the Premier League newcomers.
Is there a footballer with a more glitzy CV than Cesc Fabregas? From Barcelona to London, Monaco to Como, it's a globe-trotters dream.
Fabregas landed a surprise move to the second tier of Italian football earlier this month. Ioannou appears to be able to name the World Cup winner a team-mate next season.
After successfully luring Fabregas to Serie B with the promise of some of Italy's most enticing views, Como have turned their attention to the Nottingham Forest misfit, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Ioannou, a Cyprus international, spent the previous season on loan at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. He is expected to return in the coming days, this time on a permanent basis, according to the report. Ioannou has his sights set on a long-term stay at a club that appointed one Dennis Wise as their sports operations director a couple of years ago.
Ioannou, a former Manchester United youth footballer, has played just five league games since joining Forest from APOEL Nicosia back in 2020. After fellow left-backs Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo joined from Bayern Munich and Huddersfield Town, he will have dropped even further down the Steve Coopers pecking order.
Neco Williams, a fellow newbie, can also play on the left. According to The Athletic, discussions with Real Betis are also underway regarding the 16 million-rated Alex Moreno.
The chances of Ioannou receiving a fresh start on the City Ground are slim. A separation of the ways seems to be the most appropriate course of action.
Ioannou posted on Instagram that a wonderful journey had come to an end following his loan spell in Como.
We went through a lot of downs and ups, but at the end we have achieved what we wanted! I want to thank the board for the opportunity that was given to me to play for this amazing club; all the coaching staff who believed in me and my teammates, who we met amazing people.
I want to extend my thanks to our fans for their continued support and encouragement throughout the season. I wish the club the best of luck and I will always be a fan of Como 1907.
