If I was under pressure, Gerrard will give us an update on Aston Villa's future gems ...

Tim Iroegbunam impressed Steven Gerrard in his pre-season performance against Brisbane Roar, and he believes the midfielders' displays are sufficient to despise any interest.

Villa won 1-0 this Wednesday, while Kaine Kesler Hayden participated in the Queensland Champions Cup.

Iroegbunam displayed such a high standard that Gerrard promised to keep the 19-year-old at Villa Park while he recovers from the market. He will not make a transfer until the end of the market.

Iroegbunam of Aston Villa is on a loan to multiple Championship clubs.

Iroegbunam has been loaned to Aston Villa by multiple Championship teams. Sheffield United and Stoke City were named as two of the most ambitious teams to obtain West Brom products services this summer.

After joining the Villans from the Baggies academy ranks last year, Iroegbunam made his senior debut from the bench at Brighton & Hove Albion in February, before a start against Norwich City.

Dean Smith had not promoted the youngster to the Villa Park first-team roster during his time in charge last season. Gerrard, on the other hand, waited till his fourth game in charge to name Iroegbunam on the bench, keeping him around for a total of 23 matches.

After an impressive turnout in Aston Villas' pre-season victory over Brisbane Road, Iroegbunam is stepping up to Gerrard's position next season.

Tim played with integrity, and I was appreciative of Tim and Gerrard was enthused. He's really given me something to think about, whether or not to keep him in [the first-team] or not. But I'll make a decision very late on that. If I was under pressure now, he'd be staying in.

Iroegbunam was awarded a new contract by Aston Villa for the month of March that ran till 2027, which also saw him become a fully-fledged first-team player under Gerrard at Villa Park.
