Will Conor Gallagher be on the move this summer? Patrick Vieira doesnt think Crystal Palace can bring the Chelsea midfielder back, with Aston Villa and Everton as potential targets.
As reported by Yahoo, the 22-year-old excelled in Palace colours last season and is now part of Chelsea's pre-season tour of the United States. Vieira said he wishes the player all the best.
Everton have reportedly shown a higher interest in Gallagher, with Frank Lampard bringing in a lot of youngsters during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Steve Gerrard, the head of Aston Villa, is a big fan of the player, with Villa supporters speculating if their team will enter the market for a number eight this summer.
Vieira said he doesnt expect Gallagher to be on the move if he does. He also shared his thoughts on the goalscoring midfielder ahead of the new Premier League season.
Because he is a Chelsea player, I dont think there is any possibility at the moment, according to Vieira.
He did fantastically well for us, but he is in pre-season with Chelsea and we wish him all the best. I do not believe there is a way to get him back.
AROUND THE CORNER THE WORLD CUP
Gallagher has undergone some change in the last 12 months, including the player making the decision to become an England international.
As things stand, he is part of Gareth Southgate's plans and he should be able to compete in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
All of this might turn on its head at the start of the Premier League season, because there is serious competition for the positions Gallagher currently competes in.
If he starts warming the bench too much, he will lose his chance at Chelsea.
So, when making a decision on what he wants to do this summer, he must keep in mind his chances for England, although, it needs to be noted, that if he plays regularly for Chelsea, he increases his chances of going to the World Cup.
