Chuba Akpom, a former Arsenal player, has expressed his gratitude to Djed Spence on Instagram after he signed a deal to Tottenham Hotspur.
As reported by BBC Sport, Tottenham finally announced on Tuesday that Spence had joined them from Middlesbrough in a deal worth up to 20 million.
Antonio Conte's deal with the Tottenham team is the sixth in the premier League this summer, providing further proof that the player in Tottenham's dugout is being backed ahead of the next Premier League season.
Despite Spence's announcement on IG that he is very happy to join Spurs, he was received with a number of comments.
Akpom, who played with Spence at Boro, said, "Let's go my guy," while Yannick Bolasie, a former Everton winger, sent his congratulations to the 21-year-old.
Tyrese Fornah, a Nottingham Forest star, told him to go and smash it, as Boros Samuel Folarin added more stuff.
DOES TOTTENHAM'S SPENCE START?
It will be interesting to see what Conte envisions for Spence in the long run, as well as whether he will remain a regular starter for the now-Champions League side.
The Englishman has missed Tottenham's pre-season tour of South Korea, where the squad was put through their paces.
Because Spence had missed a significant part of the pre-season, it's likely that Emerson Royal will have the key to start the first Premier League of the season for Spurs.
Whatever the case, the all-action wingback has shown an increase, only last summer being told by Neil Warnock at Boro that he is no longer wanted, hence his now famous loan spell at the City Ground.
