Peter Jackson is planning a new project with the Beatles

Peter Jackson is planning a new project with the Beatles ...

Peter Jackson took almost four years to translate raw footage from the documentaryLet It Be into a three-part miniseries called The Beatles: Get Back, which will air in 2021. But the length of the experience has apparently not slowed Jackson's interest in the group or their world, as he is now talking with the remaining members of the Fab Four about a different project.

Jackson toldDeadline that while he would not state what it was, he's doing something else with the Beatles. Here is his reply:

Im talking to The Beatles about a different project than Get Back. Were examining the possibilities, but it's a different project with them. It's not really a documentary, and that's all I can say.

It could be a film about a person who did something entirely different from Get Back, and it isn't a documentary, as Jackson stated. (Get Backwas originally intended as a television series or miniseries, but it ended up being released in three parts on Disney+ last autumn.) It might be a remake or update of Yellow Submarine. It may be a lot of different things.

Jackson has revealed that he is working on a second secret project that is so technically complicated that he is still figuring out how to make it. Its a live-action film, but we're in the process of developing the technology to enable it to happen, while I'm at the ready to do what I've been able to do in the Lord of the Rings.
