Instagram's new map feature makes it simpler for users to navigate around cities ...

Instagram is introducing a new map feature, which reportedly looks like a Google-inspired one, but with some modifications. The new feature will allow users to discover popular local shops near them, as well as using filters by categories in posts on the feed or through Stories.

According to an update shared by Instagram's parent company Meta on his Instagram Stories post, the photo-video sharing social media platform will now allow users to locate restaurants and other hot spots more conveniently. On the other hand, users will be able to discover popular businesses around them and can also apply filters in different categories as mentioned above.

The Instagram map will now support hashtag searches and allows users to explore by tapping tagged locations in the feed or Stories. It also allows them to save their searches in a collection and share them with their friends on the platform.

Users may also enter the name of a city or neighborhood directly into the Explore page and see results on the map. Moreover, Instagram users will add the content to make the search results visible to others on the platform. However, others will be able to see it as long as the location-sharing Instagram profile is public.

Aside from this, Instagram has recently introduced a payment feature that will allow users to purchase from small businesses via direct messages. Through the new feature, users will be permitted to make purchases with various qualified small businesses on the social media platform without leaving the chat.
