The San Diego Comic-Con: The Movies and TV Shows We Hope to See

The San Diego Comic-Con: The Movies and TV Shows We Hope to See ...

After years of no Comic-Con because of COVID, I'm sort of in shock that the event will ever take place this weekend.

But it is happening and now that Top Gun: Maverick has brought cinema back to life, we are excited for what we may expect to see at the show, including Apple TV for the first time!

Here is a list of what we think we might see at the show, as well as a few things we just want to see.

Wakanda Forever: Black Panther

The next major Marvel Cinematic Universe release, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is set to release on November 11, so we are fully prepared to see it at San Diego Comic-Con.

Ryan Coogler will direct, along with Lupita Nyongo as Nakia and Danai Gurira as Okoye, but Marvel has stated that they will not remake the Black Panther role after Chadwick Boseman died in August 2020, so it will be interesting to see exactly where this film will take.

Quantumania: Ant-Man and the Wasp

Bill Murray plays an unnamed antagonist in the upcoming Ant-Man film.

The Ant-Man movies have been some of the most enjoyable, well-paced MCU films to date, so Im eager to see more footage from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It's next up after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which makes me think I might get some info perhaps a glimpse from Bill Murray, who apparently plays an unnamed villain in the film?

Vol.3 of Guardians of the Galaxy

Thor: Love and Thunder includes the Guardians of the Galaxy. For a moment.

James Gunn has already tweeted about attending Comic-Con. Does that mean we'll get to see the first footage of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Yes, but it's possible, especially given the fact that the film will be released next May. Perhaps it's better to just receive information about the upcoming film.

She-Hulk: An Attorney At Law

In August, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law will be dropped.

Were we less than a month away from the release of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law on Disney Plus, so we can certainly expect a fresh look at the show at San Diego Comic-Con. Despite all the controversy surrounding this series CGId She-Hulk, I loved the first teaser for this show. Tatiana Maslany is an amazing actress, so I have high expectations for this one.

The Dragon's House is a Victorian era residence.

Is anyone else interested in House of the Dragon?

House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel series focusing on the Targaryens, has already been explored, but we can always use more.

There is a panel dedicated to the new HBO series, which will premiere on August 21. House of the Dragon is an interesting piece. Im interested to see how Game of Thrones reacted to the release of a new spin-off like this.

The Power Rings of the Lord of the Rings

Galadriel in the new Amazon Series Rings of Power.

The Rings of Power is looking good, although not as high as the $1 billion one, but it's still interesting. House of the Dragon is a fascinating meta-narrative in and of itself.

I'm not sure if we'll get a new trailer for Comic-Con, but we'll all get to see something new.

Adam, the darkest of all-black men

Dwayne Johnson stars in Black Adam.

Im grudgingly curious about Black Adam, who is becoming increasingly annoyed with The Rocks' Instagram account (enough with the energy drink shilling already), because weve seen a lot of footage, but we would definitely see more footage at San Diego Comic-Con. The clue? A Warner Bros. theatrical session with Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods, which I'll never forget.

And, speaking of the panel, let's take a look back at the past.

Shazam!God's Fury

DC had a minor hit with Shazam!

Man, I forgot that the first Shazam! film ever took place, but there is a sequel to come. Shazam, the alter ego of teenager Billy Batson, is set to be released in December and will likely share similarities with Black Adam.

Expect to see footage of The Rock, probably via satellite, as he pumps iron at his home gym, sipping on a can of his energy drink.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Jason Momoa, who played Aquaman for Marvel, and Daenerys Targaryen's first husband in Game of Thrones

A second possibility is to get a first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom outside of the film, although I have a feeling the film will not be released until 2023. It would be nice!

Barbie is played by Margot Robbie.

The launch of the upcoming Barbie film sparked the internet with early glimpses of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie in hyper-color spandex, but we haven't seen a trailer yet. The Greta Gerwig directed film appears to be a fish out of water story that takes Ken and Barbie out of their Barbie world. There's a good possibility we might see some footage from Comic-Con.

Severance is a term used in dentistry.

Adam Scott stars in Apple TV Plus's most bizarre and enthralling program to date.

Severance remains the best show of 2022, and while it's unlikely that we'll see anything from the next season so early, we might get some insight out of the program, especially given that Apple TV will make its Comic-Con debut this year.

After Severances' incredible (and shocking) season 1 finale, at the very least, you should possibly get some clues on the direction of season 2.
