Dragons, bleached blondes, and sword fights, my God, have finally released the long-awaited trailer for the Game of Thrones sequel, House of the Dragon.
The 10-episode series is inspired by the novel Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, depicting the House Targaryen, culminating in a Targaryen civil conflict.
The teaser, which begins with the first words that come to mind when asked how war will be waged, features succession drama, intense sword fights, and a Princess who we can all predict will be a strong female character for all the feminists out there, is just enough to quench our Game of Thrones thirst and remind us of all the reasons we loved it before the controversial series finale in 2019.
Paddy Considine (King Viserys Targaryen), Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Eve Best (Princess Rhaenys Targaryen), Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria) and Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower) are all expected to star.
Martin teased the upcoming prequel in December, saying, its dark, its powerful, and it's visceral, just the way I like my epic fantasy. And from the looks of the trailer, it's safe to say he was correct.
House of the DragonPremieres will be available on HBO Max on Sunday, August 21.
