Chelsea has agreed to purchase a 55-million player. Newcastle and Paratici both wanted to sign ...

In the midst of discussions with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea is interested in Jules Kounde and is set to sign the Sevilla defender.

After acquiring Todd Boehlys earlier this summer, the Blues are chucking the money around.

After big-money moves, Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly are already on board, and more could be announced shortly.

Thomas Tuchel is looking for another centre back, and Chelsea is achieving a major goal.

Chelsea is after Jules Kounde.

Chelsea has been linked to Kounde for a long time, but a settlement appears to be on the way.

Chelsea have agreed to sign Kounde for 55 million, according to the Sun.

As his move to Chelsea finally draws closer, Kounde will reportedly undergo a medical in the next 48 hours.

Kounde is said to have even spoken to Tuchel about the move to Stamford Bridge, and personal terms are no problem.

At 5ft 10in tall, the 23-year-old is far from the biggest centre back around, but has impressed Sevilla due to his speed, 1v1 defending, and his ability to pass out from the back.

Kounde might be ideal as the right-sided centre back in Tuchels' three-man defence, although he is capable of playing at right back.

Several Premier League clubs who saw him will feel the loss of this move to Chelsea.

The Mirror reported that Tottenham was pushed to the front of the queue for Kounde just last week.

Though, Tottenham already has two right-footed defenders, so a deal for Kounde might have sounded unusual.

In June, reports from Spain suggested that Newcastle United was doing everything in their power to entice Kounde to join them.

Newcastle have since signed Sven Botman, but may have still admired Kounde if he were still around in 2023.

Chelsea have made sure that this isnt a possibility and are now hoping to sign Kounde in the coming days before unleashing him in the Premier League.
