Daniele Prade, the director of Fiorentina, has ruled out the possibility of Lucas Torreira or Dennis Praet joining the club from Arsenal or Leicester City, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Torreira ship sailed some time ago. Its just a speck on the horizon these days.
Fiorentina decided to skip paying for a temporary transfer to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in order to get some of his best football in a long time.
Some have suggested that the decision was financial. Torreiras 65,000-a-week pay was certainly an issue.
Prade claims that the final outcome was a different matter, but one that was more technical.
The decision became completely technical, according to the director, claiming that both Sofyan Amrabat and newcomer Rolando Mandragora can offer more than Torreira in the heart of the park.
We chose Amrabat rather than Torreira. We are certain that some of the things (Mandragora) has, Torreira did not have.
Mandragoras' arrival from Juventus for a rumoured 7 million puts an end to speculation about Praet's move to Florence. Prade claims that Barcelona benchwarmer Riqui Puig isn't on Fiorentinas' radar.
Praet and Puig aren't interested in us, he says. We have never discussed them. Dennis Iknow well, and his agent has always been my pal. We talked in April, but he isn't a player we would look for.
Praet, a Belgium international, wants a fresh start following a loan spell at Torino. He has just two years left on his Leicester contract. Napoli have been linked among others.
According to Praets' agent, we must first grasp what Leicester intends to accomplish.
Napoli? Some teams are interested in joining our ranks, but now, honestly, I cant say what will happen. Everything may speed up within a few days or weeks, because the boy wants to know where his pre-season preparation will begin.
