From semiconductors to bicycles, supply chains have placed a strain on inventories.
That has harmed the fortunes of many companies in many industries affected by supply constraints. For example, automobile companies have suffered by the lack of semiconductors, which are critical components for their automobiles.
This does not mean you have to steer clear of the stocks that have been harmed by supply-chain issues. Those issues will eventually fade. However, you may want to include them in the short term.
Bank of America compiled a list of the S&P 500 companies that made the most mentions of supply chain in their first-quarter earnings calls. B of A also screened for companies that made the most mentions in the first quarter versus the previous seven years.
Here are the top ten, along with the number of first-quarter supply chain mentions for each:

Morningstars Take a Look at Lam Research
Morningstar analyst Abhinav Davuluri gives the company a broad moat and assesses fair value at $720, which is about twice the previous $379 price.
Lam Research is a major supplier of semiconductor fabrication tools, according to a commentary. The company is the leader in dry etch, a critical step in the chipmaking process where material is selectively removed.
According to Davuluri, Lam has cost advantages and intangible assets related to equipment design.

Morningstars take on F5.
Morningstar analyst Mark Cash gives the company a broad moat and believes the stock should be valued at $210, 40% higher than it was in previous trading at $150.
F5 is a leader in application delivery controllers, according to a comment. F5 was reluctant to embrace cloud-based workloads as it perilously defended its established offerings, according to Cash.
F5's focus on software and cloud-based goods was properly shifted by a revamped management team as growth catalysts to reinforce its dominant hardware position. And we believe the business is on track to prosper.
