Before Thor 4, Disney+ announces Marvel Studios Legends in surprise episodes ...

It's difficult to remember what occurred during previous projects as the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands with new heroes and villains in Phase 4. As a result, Marvel has announced a new show for fans to recapture their memorable MCU moments leading up to their next on-screen appearance.

The fourth solo adventure for Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder is set sometime after the huge events in Avengers: Endgame, implying that a lot has already happened to the titular Asgardian since he helped Earth's Mightiest Heroes defeat Thanos.

A host of returning characters will also be included in the sequel, including Natalie Portman's Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson's King Valkyrie of New Asgard.

Disney has revealed a fresh batch of Legends episodes in order to give fans a chance to see the heroes' MCU journey ahead of Thor 4.

Thor 4 Gets the Marvel Studios Legends Treatment

Three episodes of Marvel Studios: Legends dedicated to the leading characters of Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on Friday, July 1.

Many Disney+ customers are surprised by this release, given that the episodes were not included in the official release slate for July 2022.

Although the House of Mouse did not disclose which characters would be the focus of the episodes, it's reasonable to assume that Thor will be centered around Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie. A double-feature featuring Valkyrie and Taika Waititi's Korg might also be an option.

Back in May, Disney released Doctor Strange, Wong, and the Scarlet Witch episodes, which was in line for the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Thor Returns with Powerful New Allies

The Marvel Studios: Legends episodes of Thor, Jane Foster, and Valkyrie will give fans an opportunity to relive some of their iconic moments from the Infinity Saga.

Thor has had a wonderful journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, losing many key people from his past. From losing both his parents to his brother, Loki, Thor's dedication to still becoming a hero is unparalleled, and more of his development will be unraveled in Love and Thunder.

According to Legends, Tom Hiddleston's Loki will not be included, especially after Marvel omitted the God of Mischief from its official recap recently. A similar situation happened to Doctor Strange's recap where the events of No Way Homeweresced from his Legends episode due to the ownership of Spider-Man.

Loki is not being sued for damages due to the fact that the character is owned by Marvel Studios. It's possible that this was intentionally in order to tease a future storyline involving Thor and Loki or this might be Marvel's way of separating the God of Mischief from the God of Thunder since the Loki from his own series is an alternate version of the character.

Jane Foster would benefit the most from her inclusion in the Legends treatment, considering that it has been a long time since she last appeared in the MCU. Valkyrie, the character's transformation from a selfish fighter in Sakaar to a full-fledged king in New Asgard would be interesting to watch once the fans see her official MCU recap.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to premiere in cinemas on Friday, July 8.
