While Disney+ and Marvel have had some fantastic collaborations over the previous 18 months, this year saw an exciting new development with material from the past. These included Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and others, which had previously been hosted on Netflix, which now has a home on Disney+.
After Netflix released these programs, they have been a part of the Disney+ marketing effort to keep fans informed of their new streaming network post-Netflix. Actors like Charlie Cox and Kyrsten Ritter have even teamed up with other Marvel TV actors from Agents of SHIELD to share their excitement about the move and bring their work back into the spotlight.
The Defenders have had their own place on Disney's streaming service, and the company has consistently placed them front and center in promotion and advertising. This continues with the latest update on Disney+'s Twitter page, which included a new round of images highlighting all six shows in the series.
New Defenders Posters are now available on Disney+.
The Defenders series, which has recently moved onto Netflix's platform, was recently shared on Disney+'s official Twitter page.
As he donnes the final outfit he got at the end of Season 1, Charlie Cox shines in a blood-red poster, flanked by a silhouette of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk.
Jessica Jones is depicted in a poster by Kristen Ritter. She wears her usual jeans and leather jacket, all with a purple tint on the street. In the distance, David Tennant's Kligrave, the show's main antagonist from Season 1 is seen.
As the Harlem skyline is highlighted below him, Mike Colter's Luke Cage stands tall in his usual gray hoodie. The entire poster is in a brilliant shade of yellow, topped off by the sun over the city.
Iron Fist's poster features a traditional light green color along with a yellow version of the hero's logo, all behind Finn Jones' hero as he unlocks the Iron Fist weapon from K'un Lun.
In a new poster for The Defenders, all four previous heroes team up together in their own distinct colors, with the image cut off at the eye line.
The Punisher's iconic skull symbol is encased in a massive scale in Disney+'s black and white color scheme. Looking down, Jon Bernthal's main hero can be seen standing at the top of a barbed-wire wall as he looks out over the city.
New Disney+ commercials highlight the Defenders.
These new photographs, which were created by Marvel Studios, capture the essence of everything Netflix has given to the table with these Marvel characters. They also capture the darker and more mysterious feeling for all six series, as Daredevil did with Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.
The question is now, as is the norm with Netflix shows, whether or not the six projects will coexist with the MCU at some point later.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye already in the works, a Daredevil show for Disney+ is already in the works, as well as talks of returning Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. On top of all of that, the future for this group of fan favorite heroes and villains looks bright.
The Defenders Saga's six episodes are now available for Disney+ subscribers.
