What has transpired on Instagram? The app appears different, and users hate it ...

Following Instagram's latest update, there are a lot of new foes.

The Meta-owned app has introduced a slew of new features that users aren't interested in at all, including new layouts, feeds, and colours.

In fact, Instagram is being dubbed the worst update it has ever received, and users are threatening to delete the app completely.

Instagram had only just changed at the end of June, but the latest updates were announced at the start of May.

Adam Mosseri announces layout and feed changes.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri took to Twitter on May 3rd to announce that a slew of new feed changes would be coming to Instagram in the future to enhance the experience.

After the May update, bigger posts and suggested posts started being distributed across the world, which is why your app appears different.

Instagram is being moved to a place where video is a bigger part of the home experience, where content is more immersive and takes up more space on the screen, according to the researcher.

Posts now appear in a larger 9:16 ratio and take up more screen space, with captions appearing on top of the picture rather than underneath.

The CEO said that a greater part of the feed will now be recommendations and things we think you might like but you may not have heard of yet.

This is why you're likely to see a lot more recommended posts from people you don't know on your home page.

Stories now have a chance to be changed. Users may post up to 100 stories, all of which used to be shown to followers who had to navigate through them.

Excessive Stories are not shown in the new update, and users will have to click a Show All button to see all of them.

Instagram has changed to a dark mode.

The latest Instagram update has also rendered the background black for a large number of users, without them changing the settings.

Users select whether or not to have the background painted white or black, but for many, the app has turned to dark mode involuntarily.

Unfortunately, there appears to be little you can do about it, as Instagram's color settings are determined by your phone settings, and there isn't a way to change this within the app.

Instagram will appear white if your iOS or Android device is in Light Mode. Likewise, if your device is in Dark Mode, Instagram will appear black.

There is nothing you can do to change the way your phone settings are set to Light, but your Instagram continues to appear Dark.

You can check your color settings on an iOS device by going to Settings > Display & Brightness, and there will be a blue tick in either light or dark.

The recent Instagram update with a black background is a great way to make sure I don't keep going. Everything in dark mode is a disaster.

Users are dissatisfied with the changes.

Thousands of users have taken to Twitter in recent weeks to express how much they disapprove of the new changes.

One person wrote: "I've never heard of you."

This new Instagramgram immersive feed has to be one of the worst updates to an app i have ever seen lol.

Another said, "I'm sorry."

I've never been a fan of an Instagram update before, because I'm afraid they'll all be changed at the same time.

A third person has been added:

Instagram has just updated my feed to a full screen version and it's so ugly I'd barely want to get on the app.

Another wrote:

Instagram's interface has changed, and Im struggling to remember why I keep the app.
