It turns out that people are now using deepfakes to fake something during job interviews for remote positions. And this could lead to undesirable outcomes for the individuals or companies involved.

Is deepfakes the enemy?

According to a research published inCrime Science back in 2020, deepfakes are the most harmful AI crime threat. In the long run, it may become very easy to discredit a public figure and extort money by impersonating other people, and that might result in societal harm.
