DC Director Teased Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Return

DC Director Teased Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Return ...

With his work on Warner Bros.''s reboot/sequel The Suicide Squad, Director James Gunn reintroduced into the comic book scene in 2021. This unique R-rated film has also brought back one of the DC''s most popular fan favorites, including Margot Robbies Harley Quinn.

Robbie is still popular considering what DC has on the table in the present day, despite one of the most popular current runs in the DC Extended Universe. Along with both Suicide Squad movies.

The big question right now, with so much on the way for the DC universe, is when exactly fans will see Robbie return to one of her most notable roles. Well, if James Gunn has anything to say about it, it will hopefully be sooner rather than later.

James Gunn campaignes for a Harley Quinn re-back.

James Gunn, the director and writer of the Suicide Squad, posted a picture on Twitter saying that he would like Margot Robbie to return to the DC Extended Universe as Harley Quinn.

A fan asked Warner Bros and Gunn to provide Harley back for another project, to which Gunn simply replied. Gunn previously worked with Robbies Harley Quinn on The Suicide Squad in 2021.

Gunn and Robbie''s working relationships have been well documented in the past, with Gunn even accepting some of Robbie''s requests to modify certain aspects of Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad.

Gunn said that fans will "wait and see" what happens with the character when the two are together in early 2021. Quinn has also admitted to discussing a possible Harley Quinn/Groot spin-off with both Marvel and DC, allowing Quinn to return to the role, and permitting him to tie his two comic book worlds together.

Gunn Ready for Harley Quinn Return

During Gunn''s momentary transition from Marvel to DC, James Gunn and Margot Robbie built an impressively close relationship. She proclaimed herself to be the best actress he''s ever worked with in his career, with an incredible amount of praise from one of the most famous directors in the business today.

Harley Quinn is undoubtedly popular among avid fans and critics, as she became synonymous with her role shortly after her debut in the 2016 Suicide Squad. Nevertheless, it''s still a mystery to when she''d return.

There isn''t a new Suicide Squad movie on the books, but it''s not publicly, at least. Harley Quinn is expected to return with Lady Gaga reportedly playing the Joaquin Phoenix sequel. And the whole DCEU slate is in a state of flux due to the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, making sure the DCEUs Harley Quinn could be put on the back burner until things are resolved.

Regardless, seeing Gunn promote Robbie''s anti-hero can only be a good sign as the studio works out the way for the DCEUs future. While Robbie may currently be on a break from playing this role, there are a lot of fans and professionals out there who hope to see her come without too long of a wait.
