In a royal portrait with Prince William, Kate Middleton wears The Vampires Wife ...

One of Kate Middletons'' favorite dresses will last for forever.

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge''s first joint portrait was unveiled at a museum in Cambridge, England, where the duchess chose a familiar outfit with a twist for the historic piece of art.

Middleton, dressed in a dazzling green suit from The Vampires Wife ($1,955) she previously wore to the GuinnessStorehouse in March 2020, is walking off to the distance as she wraps an arm around Prince William in the glamorous painting.

She gave the old fit a fresh look with some glittering accessories, including a gift from the Queen that has a special tie to Cambridge.

According to The Court Jeweller, the brooch tied to Middletons dress in the painting is actually called The Duchess of Cambridges Brooch.

The pearl-and-diamond necklace dates back to the late 1800s, with Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel, who was married to Prince Adolphus at the time. It has been worn by generations of royal women since including the current Duchess of Cambridge.

She chose two additional significant pieces for her portrait, including Princess Dianas Collingwood pearl drop earrings and a three-strand pearl bracelet, both of which Middleton has worn on previous occasions.

The 40-year-old royal made a formal statement by wearing the crystal-buckled Manolo Blahnik pumps ($995) known by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City for her portrait, selecting an emerald color to match her shimmering frock.

The piece, which was inspired by award-winning artist Jamie Coreth, will hang at theFitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge before moving on to other locations, including the Londons National Portrait Gallery in 2023.

Middleton wore a pink, purple, and blue patterned L.K. Bennett dress ($540) she wore to a 2015 event, but the exact color is no longer sold, but it is now available in a blue and peach printed version.

She topped the dress with a pale blue coat and added blue-gray accessories for the occasion, sporting yet another color of her favorite Emmy London Rebecca heels ($415) and the matching clutch ($370).

As part of the Childrens Hospice Week in the United Kingdom, the duke and the prince are visiting a number of places in the Cambridge area.

Middleton, who serves as the royal patron of EACH, rolled up her sleeves and donned a floral-print mask while she engaged with children, taking part in some painting activities, and talking with patients'' families.

Middleton has had a great day, from seeing herself if she needs a knife.
