On Father's Day, Marvel brings ten MCU Dads, including Thanos ...

While the world takes the time to commemorate Father''s Day 2022, franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe have the opportunity to join in the festivities. Marvel boasts a vast number of characters that take on the responsibility of fatherhood, although not all of them necessarily go through it the right way, for example. Take Thanos and his past in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for example.

Thanos is well-known as an amazing group of dads who have demonstrated how to raise a family in the past 14 years of MCU history. From T''Chaka raising the future King of Wakanda to Ant-Man, Scott Lang is simply striving to protect his daughter Cassie in a changing world. Parenthood is a key theme that Marvel Studios focuses on.

With over three dozen projects spanning the Marvel story since 2008, this franchise has no shortage of dads to celebrate on Father''s Day, obvious to that titlethroughblood or by choice. Marvel took a moment to highlight ten of these fathers via social media, showing the wide range of characters that all have the same status as dads.

Marvel Celebrates Father''''s Day 2022

Father''s Day was commemorated on Marvel''s Instagram page from the United Kingdom and Ireland, featuring photos of ten of the most famous fathers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Family...back together again..."

While David Harbour''sAlexei Vostokoff may not be a biological father, he served as the father figure for Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova in 2021''s Black Widow. Obviously, that was in concert with reliving his glory days as the Red Guardian, but he gives the term "working dad" a new meaning in the process.

"You would be an awesome [partner], and if I allowed you, I would be a terrible dad."

Scott Lang of Paul Rudd has done everything he can to be the best dad possible for Cassie Lang even if he serves as Ant-Man. The pair will now have a chance to combine as a superhero duo in next year''s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

"You taught your son to be a murderer. Is this exactly what you wanted??"

Wenwu, led by Tony Leung, showed just how dangerous a father can be when he loses a portion of his family in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Although he served as the Mandarin and led a dangerous criminal organization, he made the ultimate sacrifice by passing the powerful Ten Ringsto his son, Shang-Chi, before his untimely death.

"Tell my family I love them."

Clint Barton of Jeremy Renner would have spent the whole of his solo Hawkeye series in full dad mode at Christmas. While he''s known as an OG member of the Avengers, Barton always has his family on his mind as he protects his wife and kids from imminent danger at every turn.

"Thor Odinson...my heir...my firstborn..."

Anthony Hopkins'' Odin was successful in his career as a father to his three children. But things with Hela didn''t work out as well, but he raised a future Avenger in Thor and one of the most well-known MCU anti-heroes in Loki: Ragnarok.

"Let me tell you, that kid''s still hasn''t arrived, and there''s nothing I wouldn''t do for him," says the author.

Howard Stark of John Slattery had a rocky relationship with his son, Tony, when he unexpectedly met Howard during the Time Heist in Avengers: Endgame, giving him the support he needed.

"I''m sorry, little one."

Thanos, Josh Brolin''s father, took a different path to becoming a father than any of his MCU counterparts, leaving planets decimated as he "adopted" his five children. Let''s just say, he did not take on the mantle in the healthiest of ways, as he willingly threw his own daughter Gamora off a cliff in order to complete his quest for universal equilibrium with the Infinity Gauntlet.

"A man has failed as a father, who has not prepared his children for his own murder."

T''Chaka, who plays Captain America in the United Nations during the Civil War, was overcome with his disastrous feat as a father. Through the Ancestral Plane, he provided the guidance and support he could for his son, T''Challa. As Wakanda was able to live in a bigger world.

"Well, don''t you want to meet your son as yourself," says the author.

Paul Bettany''s inclusion in this post as Vision is a unique one owing to the fact that he did not experience fatherhood until after his death. Even so, letting him experience a life with Jett Klyne and Jullian Hilliard''s Tommy and Billy in WandaVision allowed supporters to see how kind and caring he was.

It''s not about preserving our world, but rather about preserving theirs.

Before Ant-Man, Michael Douglas'' Hank Pym had a complicated relationship with his daughter Hope, although the two have since rekindled their relationship over the years. Together in Ant-Man 3, they intend to be together once more with another father/daughter pair in Scott and Cassie Lang.

A Variety of Fathersin Marvel''''s MCU Movies

These tencharacters certainly give fans a sense of how many unique fathers exist within the MCU, from supervillains like Thanos and the Mandarin to iconic heroes like Ant-Man and Hawkeye. Finally, this list does not even take into account some fan-favorite characters who have taken on duties as fathers.

Tony Stark of Robert Downey Jr. wore his belt during Avengers: Endgame, while simultaneously saving his life to save the universe and create a better future for his daughter. However, Kurt Russell''s Ego was even part of a significant MCU storyline, revealing his father''s quest for galactic influence before meeting his conclusion in Vol. 2.

The celebration of Marvel''s Father''s Day illustrates how not all dads are identical, and how it takes a lot to make an impact in a child''s life as a father. No matter what path takes somebody to fatherhood, it''s the process after it happens that really matters.
