Some father-son duos are less likely than Dan and Eugene Levy... or David and Johnny Rose, if you like. The Schitts Creek stars and co-creators love (and tease) each other IRL as much as their riches-to-rags TV counterparts did for six seasons, but the family is still keeping fans fed. On Fathers Day, the younger Levy took to social media to remember his dad and used a hilarious throwback photo to do it.
Dan loved this photo of my dad holding me as a baby; he captioned a still from Eugenes 2000 mockumentary Best in Show in which his character, Gerry, hoists up a mute dog. Happy Fathers Day to one of the greats.
If you like Schitts Creek, there''s a good chance youre already familiar with Best in Show, but if you haven''t seen it yet, youre in for a (dog) treat. Eugene plays Gerry and Cookie Fleck, their parents to a terrier, Winky, who they hope will win the prize at a major dog show.
On Fathers Day, Jason Biggs, who played the actors on-screen son in American Pie movies, commented on the post. He is a great man. Euge, happy Fathers Day!
Dan had a great sense of what he wanted the show to look like and what he wanted it to sound like, and what the tone of the show was going to be, and how the message of the show would be. He certainly makes himself responsible to make these things happen. He does not go with the flow at all.
Dans Fathers Day messages are the gift that keeps giving if you need more Rose/Levy family content. In a 2019 post, he thanked Eugene for her brows and laughs.
Two years ago, he shared a few of the pairs with his hilarious throwback captions.
Keep an eye on it next year!
