Vielen Dank: Leeds and West Brom's objective confirms its exit and will be free-agent ...

Darragh Lenihan has confirmed his departure from Blackburn Rovers owing to an interest from Leeds United, Newcastle, and Wolves, according to an Instagram account.

Jon Dahl Tomasson was only appointed as the next manager of Blackburn last week. In an early blow to his hopes of building on Tony Mowbray''s training at Ewood Park, the Danish legend has already lost one of his key players.

Then again, it was no secret that Lenihan would have been expected to quit after more than a decade at the Lancashire club. Tomasson would have known the difference from the start.

On July 1, the long-serving captain of the Blackburns will be a free agent, but he''s certainly not short of admirers.

TEAMtalk said earlier in the year that Newcastle, Leeds, and Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown an interest in the Irish international; A solid, reliable centre-half but one with the type of passing range which is usually sought by top-flight clubs.

My job is coming to an end after 11 years and 252 games for the Blackburn Rovers Football Club, according to Lenihan.

I will be forever grateful to this club for me having the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional footballer.

This club will always be special to me, it was the club that gave me my first start, it gave me friends that I now consider family, where I married and had my children, and above all gave me the greatest pleasure of being captaining this incredible team.

A special gesture to the fans, you took me in like one of your own. I will never forget your gratitude you have given me at my time at the club, and for that I want to express my whole reconnaissance.

I wish this club all the success they have in the future.

As things stand, it appears that Lenihan will still be a Championship player in 2022/23. West Brom are clamoring for a reliable, vocal presence at the core of their error-prone backline, and Lenihan is one of the Football League''s most powerful captains.

According to Gazette Live, Chris Wilders Middlesbrough is currently in a pole position.

According to Gregg Broughton, Darragh has been a great writer. (Lancashire Telegraph)

We wish Darragh all of us the best. And if he continues to play in the Championship next year, im certain the supporters will give him a warm welcome.
