I talked to him: A former coach claims he wants West Ham to leave ...

Nikola Vlasic is expected to leave West Ham United following a difficult debut season in the Premier League, according to former CSKA Moscow coach Ivica Olic, amid reports of a move to Serie A.

It was not supposed to be the same.

Vlasic, who has a point to prove after a horrifying stint at Everton, returned to England as a more habile, complete footballer when West Ham invested 25 million in sealing his signature less than 12 months ago.

En plus, during his time away from British soil, he had established himself as a key member of a hugely successful Croatian midfield at international level. He even won the Russian Premier League Player of the Year in 2020.

Everton fans were concerned that Vlasic would return to their homes. Only one league start and one goal later, the 24-year-old is expected to set an early ending to his London Stadium career.

Nikola didn''t have the best season in England, according to Olic, putting forth his candidate for the Understatement of the Century award.

The key reason (for his struggles) is that he arrived at the end of the transfer window, and West Ham already had a team formed. It was not easy (and) it took time to adapt to the league.

West Ham performed well. Vlasic had excellent competition for his position.Nicola mostly played in the Europa League, but he continued to play as a reserve player in the Premier League.

The Vlasics player defended the match over the weekend that the midfielder is not interested in a return to Russia. Or CSKA, for that matter. Serie A is a much more popular proposition.

Torino is on track to reach a deal that will see Vlasic on loan, with the option-to-buy clause included in his contract, according to TMW.

I believe in Vlasic, and I know that a lot of clubs would like him to sign him or take him on loan, according to Olic, a former Bayern Munich and Hamburg striker.

If West Ham gives him the opportunity, then Nicola will modify teams (and join a club) and will be given the chance play and where he can get in better shape. This will help him again become one of Croatia''s top players.

I wish this to him from the bottom of my heart.I spoke with him. He wants to stay in Europe. For example, to test himself in the German or Spanish championships. He has options.

Croatia''s coach Zlatko Dalic admitted in March that Vlasic was willing to leave West Ham on loan in order to boost his international hopes ahead of the World Cup.
