In the past few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has come a long way. However, it must do one more thing. It must be simple to operate. This is just as important as all of the computational and technical components that make AI possible.
AI is at an early stage in which it is able to be effectively in the hands of everyday people. Its in the same place as computers were more than 40 years ago, when Apple considered a simple-to-use, low-cost personal computer for the average user, and then made it a reality.
It is only until we follow Apples'' lead and apply those lessons to AI that it will take off and fulfill its almost-boundless potential. We must demystify AI and make it practical to use for everyone. On the enterprise side, we must make AI simple for companies and their employees to adopt into their workflows. This will be a game changer for AI adoption going forward.
In its current form, AI is excessive. There are too many grandiose use cases and too little data scientists to make them a reality. So, to most people, AI is a technology always on the horizon. We need a fresh generation of integrated, out-of-the-box solutions that enable everyone to tap into the power of AI and reap all of its benefits.
In 2022, we will transform it.
In person, join us for the largest symposium on applied AI for enterprise business and technology decision makers on July 19 and 28.
Today, AI is the predominant focus of a diverse spectrum of technology behemoths, such as Google and Microsoft, who have invested billions in developing and using AI. In other industries, such as manufacturing, education, retail, or healthcare, AI is often underutilized.
All of these industries generate large amounts of data, but AI is rarely used to analyze large amounts of data and learn from patterns and features that exist in the data. The answer is, why is it that most companies do not have access to the most advanced and costly compute resources? And they do not have access to the most expensive and limited AI talent to properly utilize those resources.
These are two constraints that can reintroduce mainstream adoption. However, these problems may be resolved if we make AI easy to adopt and easy to use for instant benefit. Here are three ways we can create an Apple-like AI experience and bridge the gap to a future in which AI helps businesses do more than they imagined.
1.Leverage existing artificial intelligence work
So much AI work exists in the cloud, so it is no longer necessary for businesses to develop their AI from scratch. They can exploit the existing work. They don''t have to reinvent the wheel. They may adopt already-functioning AI solutions and use them to their own requirements. However, they cannot do it without having a simple, seamless, Mac-like interface.
In the way that Shopify developed a user-friendly, Mac-like interface that allows all retailers to easily sell goods online. They don''t have to know how to make their own shopping cart technology or how to integrate it with, say, their billing software. Shopify provides users in all industries with advanced, advanced technology, and intuitive analytics that they can use out of the box to accomplish their business goals.
2.Keep improving the AI every day
AI is able to continuously learn and improve itself. That''s why you own a Tesla, because almost every time you go for a drive, there is a fresh software update. This happens because there are millions of Teslas on the road today, and all those vehicles are collecting data, which is used to improve every vehicle every day. This type of learning and knowledge-sharing must be undertaken with AI in every industry and across applications.
3.Take advantage of the latest AI models
Even if AI techniques were developed three or four years ago, they are now out of date. New, improved AI models and neural networks are constantly developing, compared to how we as humans learn when learning something new and continue to develop and add new abilities over our lifetime. However, AI users require a new processor architecture and programming model that allows them to operate both AI and non-AI algorithms.
Once this happens, we will enter a new era of more practical and commercially viable AI products across a wide range of use cases and industries. One day soon, we will be able to overcome the existing limitations of power, complexity, and costs.
Final takeaway
All businesses need to focus on what they''re good at, whether it be manufacturing better products or better serving them. AI can significantly increase their ability to do this. It can, therefore, help them operate more efficiently and, ultimately, increase profitability. AI is already simplifying workflows through advanced automation, faster processing via edge computing, and supercharging data analysis. For a healthcare provider, AI can improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce prescription errors, thus saving lives.
We are now slowly removing the surface of artificial intelligence use cases. We will go further, but to help each client understand the value of AI and to improve it as a MacBook. Only then will we unleash the real potential of artificial intelligence.
