According to the statement, the building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been requested to leave the building earlier in the day.

Robert Smigel has spoken out for many years about Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
After being detained, the team was done with pre-arranged interviews of Congress members. They were planning to shoot the final comedy elements in Capitols hallways for an upcoming segment on the talk show.
Near the offices of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, the team was filming.
The incident remains under investigation, with Matthew M. Graves, the US Attorney General for the District of Columbia, serving as the consultant.
