In April, Arsenal sent Everton Gushiken to Paraguay to watch Julio Enciso in action for Club Libertad.

After Brighton announced the signing of Enciso, the Gunners also asked their scout to look into Alexis Duarte.

The Seagulls were also attracted to the 18-year-olds, and showed no desire to get a deal done now.

Brighton have signed Enciso for a sum believed to be 9.5 million, with the teenager writing a four-year deal to it.

According to The Athletic, Brighton wanted him to sign a five-year deal.

Brighton was on the verge of signing the South American wonderkid in January, although the deal was canceled due to disagreements over personal terms.

Arsenal will have to wait and see if Enciso makes them kick themselves because they are missing out on his signature.

We believe that he will shine in the Premier League on the basis of what the prodigy has done so far.

Enciso has already secured five caps for Paraguay, putting him in just 14 games in the Primera Division Apertura.

At the moment, Arsenal supporters have a lot to focus on rather than missing out on a Paraguayan wonderkid.

While it''d have been nice to land him, Mikel Arteta has just secured a deal for Fabio Vieira, a Porto playmaker, while The Times believes that a 50 million loan for Gabriel Jesus is coming closer.

The Gunners are also attempting to sign Leicester''s frontman, Youri Tielemans, for the Emirates Stadium to have a pleasant summer.

It''s unlikely that a deal for Enciso would have been the cake''s goal, but Arteta is keen to add more experienced players to his cast of young gems.
