Pantone Named The Primary Colors Of 2021
The Pantone Color Institute has named two primary colors for 2021: Illuminating and Ultimate Gray, the Institute said in a statement. Pantone described the combination of gray and yellow as "inspiring and hopeful."
The Institute calls yellow "warming and optimistic" and gray " practical and solid." According to Pantone, this combination best expresses the mood of 2021, highlighting how dissimilar elements can combine to support each other. "PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow color, sparkling with vivacity, warming yellow shade, permeated with solar energy. PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray symbolizes strong and reliable elements that are eternal and provide a solid foundation," the Institute's specialists explained.
According to the Pantone website, 2021 will be the first time in 20 years that two colors of the year have been chosen at once. In 2020, the color of the year was "classic blue."
