Barcelona joins Arsenal in a run to a 17m Premier League winner, according to reports ...

According to Bild, Barcelona have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Ilkay Gundogan, who has just become a Premier League winner for the fourth time.

Well, it was the 21-m goal against Aston Villa that sealed the Premier League title for Manchester City, but he could now leave the Etihad Stadium.

Bild believes the Citizens will extend the Germany internationals contract, which expires in June 2023, although he is currently eager to discuss his options.

Gundogan has learned that this might be his last chance to play for another European giant, with Barcelona and Juventus now interested in signing him.

Bayern Munich is also monitoring the situation.

Bilds news comes after an investigation revealed that Mikel Arteta wanted a reunion with Gundogan, whom he served as Pep Guardiolas assistant in Manchester.

Arsenal have claimed that the Citizens would pay for their No.8 for a sum of 17 million, a sum that is a very reasonable fee for one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Bild argues that Gundogan is hoping to receive regular playing time next season in order to form Hansi Flicks'' squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

According to a German newspaper, the 150,000-a-week-old is dissatisfied with Guardiola for abandoning him towards the end of last season.

Arsenal would afford to secure themselves one of the summer deals, assuming they can get Gundogan on the back of a 17 million dollar contract.

The German is an elite footballer who appears to be becoming even better as the years go on.

Gundogan netted 17 goals from midfield in all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign, but went on to score 10 goals in the season just gone.

Arteta has a young footballer like him, so his arrival will give the Gunners an expanded game.

Keep an eye on this situation, as anything might happen this summer.
