Leeds are considering a surprise move for Marc Roca this summer, a player who has been compared to Xabi Alonso, according to a group of lawyers.
Bayern Munich completed a move to sign Roca from Espanyol back in the summer of 2020. However, he has found game time in Germany at an all-time low, scoring 24 times for Bayern.
Only four players from the start had been given three appearances in 2021-22. Josh Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso, Marcel Sabitzer, and Jamal Musiala have limited his chances of football.
According to the Athletic, Leeds are aiming to make Roca their third summer signing after Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen. After his arrival, the Bundesligas own website compared him to Alonso.
It''s little wonder that Roca has been compared to Alonso, a former Bayern, Real, Liverpool, Real Sociedad, and Spain''s midfield great.
Roca and Alonso are among the players who have compared with Busquets, the Barcelonas'' masters of dirty work and distribution, according to a Bundesliga website.
Leeds considering Roca: Compared to Alonso
If Roca is half as good as Alonso, then he will be a good signing for Leeds. A great one, at just 10million. Roca is certainly the same position as Alonso, who is at the base of the midfield and is capable of spraying passes.
Both long and short. It was the pleasure in which Alonso went about his work, as if he was painting a picture in the park. The former Liverpool man was well-known for his ability to score from long range.
Leeds do require a holding midfielder. One to either partner Kalvin Phillips or provide cover. Lewis OBrien continues to be a target for that role. It could be Roca.
