As they continue their summer recruitment drive, Leeds United hopes Alberth Elis will be available to strike.
In the beginning of the summer transfer window, the Whites have been extremely busy.
Brenden Aaronson, a playmaker, has been joined by Red Bull Salzburg before teammate Rasmus Kristensen has been added on Wednesday.
Leeds aren''t done there, but they need additional reinforcements in order to avoid another relegation battle next season.
Jesse Marsch will be looking for another goalscorer, and Elis, a Bordeaux ace, appears to be in the works.
Leeds United want Alberth Elis
Leeds are showing a sense of interest in signing Elis this summer, according to a French newspaper LEquipe.
Its even added that offers have already arrived on the Bordeauxs desk, although it is unclear if one of them is from Leeds.
Elis, 26, is expected to leave Bordeaux this summer after his relegation from Ligue 1.
The Honduras international was one of only ten players to make an impact for Bordeaux, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances.
Elis is only on loan from Boavista but the goal would be to activate the permanent option in the loan and then sell for money.
In a potentially fun affair, Leeds is positioning themselves for Elis.
The 26-year-old has been hailed as a bit of an explosion by Bordeaux director Admar Lopes, who is known for his bouncing posture.
Elis is capable of playing down the right flank or up front in the Leeds attack.
Marsch should know Elis well in the MLS while in charge of the New York Red Bulls.
Marsch has already seen him go for two players he knows well in Aaronson and Kristensen, and while he has never worked with Elis, he will remember his skill.
With that in mind, Elis should be a name to keep an eye on as Leeds seeks a greater threat in the third.
