Erdogan Spoke About New Gas Reserves In The Black Sea

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the discovery of new natural gas reserves in the Black sea with a volume of 85 billion cubic meters. The total size of the field is 405 billion cubic meters.

In August, Erdogan announced that the Turkish drilling vessel Fatih had discovered the largest gas field in the country's history in the Black sea with an estimated 320 billion cubic meters of reserves.

"Our vessel continued working after the discovery of the first gas field. New research has revealed an additional 85 billion cubic meters of gas. The total volume leaves 405 billion cubic meters," Erdogan said during a visit to the Fatih research vessel. The broadcast was conducted on Twitter of the Turkish leader.

Erdogan added that the goal is to start gas production from this field in 2023.
