Digital Sales Of Doom Eternal Amounted To 3 Million Copies, And Half-Life: Alyx Only 860 Thousand
The analytical firm SuperData published global charts of games sales in digital services for March and also told about the indicators of some titles.
For example, the first edition of DOOM Eternal was 3 million copies — three times more than its predecessor had four years ago. Then sales of the shooter amounted to 957 thousand copies.
But Half-Life: Alyx showed at first glance modest results in 860 thousand players, although for a VR-exclusive, such indicators are, of course, worthy of praise. The firm notes that at the end of 2019, computers with VR were less than 4 million.
At the same time, the monthly number of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players increased by 159% with the release of the free Call of Duty: Warzone. In General, the shooter's audience by the end of the month was 62.7 million people.
But Animal Crossing: New Horizons is much more interesting. New Nintendo, released on March 20, by the end of the month sold 5 million copies — a record in the console field. The previous holder of the title was Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
