Christopher Nolan has been commissioned to direct an episode of the MacGruber series ...

Jorma Taccone and John Solomon spoke before theMacGyverparody arrived on Peacock later this week, documenting the show''s development, including a discussion with Christopher Nolan, who formed the long-runningSaturday Night Liveskit of the same name.

According to Taccone, Nolan is a big fan of theMacGrubermovie, even going so far as to quote the film on the set of his ownThe Dark Knight Rises. Upon discovering Nolan''s affinity for MacGruber, the producers lobbied hard to get him to direct a TV episode.

We were tempted to pursue him, like, he sent us a sweet note, but he couldnt come to the table read, according to Taccone. I honestly have been too up his butt I wanted to see if he could get his throat removed, but he didn''t have any time for that. I think hes got to a point where he''s not gonna actually be a part of your world, but I do appreciate it.

TheMacGruberseries closes off ten years after the events of the film, with MacGruber (Will Forte) in prison for murdering Dieter von Cunth (Val Kilmer). When the villainous Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Kristen Wiig) threatens the world yet again, MacGruber joins withVicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) to stop

MacGruberlands on Peacock beginning this Thursday, December 16.
