Avatar 2 is getting a first look from James Cameron ...

It''s been over ten years sinceAvatar became the medium''s greatest film. James Cameron has spent much of that time researching sequels, which have been pushed back several times as the project expanded to include four moreAvatarmovies, and as his studio, Fox, was acquired by Disney. Barring further delays, the film was only one year away.

Cameron talked toEntertainment Weekly and gave an adetailed viewing of the movie. Hedescribed the terrifying rewards he received to capture his vision, including the setting of much of theAvatar story underwater, because because air bubbles would have broken up with the capture techniques, each actor had to train with professional divers until they could free dive.

It has become even more wilder than it is:

Cameron claims that Sigourney Weaver, who has died in the first film, might easily hold her breath for six and a half minutes, while new cast memberKate Winslet blows everyone away when she did a seven-and-a-half-minute breath hold.Avatar2 is a reunion between Cameron and hisTitanicstar Winslet; here, the 46-year-old actor plays one of the Metkayina, a mysterious character named Ronal.

The first look at a film''s (or very detailed concept art) is also featured in the EWs article:

The threesequels are expected to begin in theaters on December 16, 2022. Although the film is somewhat ambitious, you have to be pretty keen to make four sequels back to back before releasing any of them. Lets hope the sequels will arrive on time next year.Avatar 2 (which isn''t the official title, which hasn''t been yet) is set to open every other year, in 2024, 2026, and 2028.
