Peloton Responds to That Shocking Sex and the City Death ...

SPOILERS from And Just Like That''s premiere are included in this post.

The premiere of The Citysequel seriesAnd Just Like That...on HBO Max saw a shocking death of a major character. John James Mr. Big Preston (Chris Noth), Carrie Bradshaws on-and-off love interest, and is now married with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), but its not to last until the end of the first episode. After an intense workout his 1000th total on his Peloton bike, Mr. Big had a heart attack.

Peloton knew that one of their high-end stationary bikes would be featured on the show, but the concept in which it was used came as a surprise. And they want to make sure its clear that their bike is not to blame for Bigs'' death.

Mr. Big, a preventative cardiologist and member ofPelotons health and wellness advisory council, said: "It''s great to know that he died of a heart attack," said Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, who lives in San Diego, California. Mr. Big lived a lavish lifestyle including cocktails, cigars, and big steaks, and was at tremendous risk as he had a previous cardiac event in Season 6.

According to Dr. Steinbaum, these lifestyle choices and perhaps even his family history, were the likely cause of his death. Adding a Peloton Bike may have even slowed his cardiac event. This is what Miranda (Cynthia Nixon)tellsSteve (David Eigenberg) in preparation for Bigs'' funeral. Neither character refers to the bike as a Peloton, but it''s just that bike.

As far as 80 percent of all cardiac-related deaths may be prevented by lifestyle, diet, and exercise adjustments. While 25 percent of heart attacks each year are in patients who already had one (like Mr. Big), even then they are very, very treatable. Peloton assists patients with heart rates while they ride, making it possible to always do it safely.

Every Thursday, there are new episodes ofAnd Just Like That...drop on HBO Max.
