Guillermo Del Toro is still working on adaptation to the Mountains of Madness ...

The Kingcast episode of the Guillermo Del Toros film adaptation of H.P. LovecraftsAt The Mountains of Madness was canceled. However, the highly anticipated project was scrapped a decade ago, causing a lot of stress. Del Tororevealed that his vision forMountains of Madnessis remains in the works.

When asked if his working relationship with Netflix might lead to a repeat ofMountains of Madness, Del Toro assured that the story was one of the first films he made to the studio. Although it''s not the screenplay I would do now, I must do a revision, according to Del Toro. Back then I was attempting to bridge the scale of it with elements that would make it through the studio process...

Del Toro believes that Netflix would be more open to an artistic interpretation that doesn''t cater to the masses. I can go to a far more esoteric, weirder, and smaller version of it. You know, where I may go back to some of the scenes that were left out. It''s just a matter of rewriting the script.

While this is fantastic news for Lovecraft''s science fiction-tinged horror, we shouldn''t expect aMountains of Madnessmovie to arrive later this month, and he''ll also finishing touches on the Production ofCabinet of Curiosities in Toronto. Yet, he said it''s his intention to finish the project eventually.
